The Moto Morini Scrambler 1200. Not very practical, but certainly very cool...
First shown back in January this year, the very smart looking Moto Morini Scrambler 1200 is now all set to go into production. With its 19-inch front wheel, chunky off-road tyres, single round headlamp and oval-shaped number board on the side, the Scrambler does indeed look like a classic… well, scrambler.
Even though these days we don’t really know exactly what a "scrambler" is supposed to do, or what kind of riding it’s meant for (do people still actually do the 1960s kind of scrambler riding anymore?), the Moto Morini Scrambler looks pretty cool anyway. And its Euro 3-compliant 1,187cc v-twin, which produces 117bhp at 8,500rpm, will probably make sure that the ‘go’ matches the ‘show.’
With its 19-inch front wheel and off-road rubber, we wonder how it'll behave on the street...

With its steel tube trellis frame, aluminum swingarm, 50mm USD Marzocchi fork, adjustable monoshock, Brembo brakes, 19-inch (front) and 17-inch (rear) wheels (shod with tubeless Michelin rubber) and optional soft luggage, the Moto Morini Scrambler 1200 might have (a rather strange) mix of on- and off-road capabilities. It will probably not excel at anything, but as an all-rounder, it could be fun to ride.
Prices are yet to be announced, though the bike will go on sale in Europe by February 2009, and the two colour schemes you see here are the only ones that will be available.
